WE BUILD AMERICAN PERFORMANCE
We are hard core gear heads that love what we do, some call us sick. We are always building something for ourselves. Wheelin' and Dealin' for the next best thing to build is something we are into. This is part of our research to come up with the best "Real World" combinations that really work. We test what we build!!! We bolt on the best parts we can get our greasy hands on, and we see how much rubber they can lay down. If we find a bogus part, we know not to use it again. Believe me, there are some less than desirable parts being sold out there. If we find success it goes into our bag of tricks!!! We then pass on the goodies on to you!!!

The Chevelle in Drag Trim

A Rear Shot

The new 496 "Back - in - Black"

Rolling stock consists of: Street Trim: Front tires are BF Goodrich Radial T/A 215/65-15's on 7 inch ralley wheels and the rears are 275/60-15's on 8 inch ralley wheels.
Drag trim: Fronts are Lemans 165-15's on 15 X 3.5 Weld Pro Stars and the rears are Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Radial 275/60-15's on 15 X 8 Weld Pro Stars.
The suspension: Front: Upgraded with Global West upper and lower control arms, Hotchkis coil springs, OPG sway bar and 3-way adjustable shocks. Rear: Hotchkis trailing arms, coil springs, and sway bar.
The exterior: Paint is 1970-72 Corvette War Bonnet Gold with blue pearl and gold glitter dust. Dechromed sides and stock SS badges. Drag trim includes a fiberglass 4" cowl induction hood in flat black.
Engine and under hood goodies include: (In build now) Custom CDP black powder coated detailing with billet accents, Brodix Race Rite Oval Ports with the CNC chamber option and minor port work by CDP, 115cc chambers and titanium retainers, Eagle 4340 forged 4.25" stroke crank, Eagle 4340 Forged 3D H-beam rods, HPC coated Air-Gap intake, JE/SRP forged pistons (10.6-1 CR), Speed Pro file fit moly rings, ARP fasteners, Crane Z-Cam hydraulic roller cam and lifters, Comp Cams Pro Magnum full roller rockers, Holley 950 HP carb and fuel pump, a custom curved Performance Distributors (DUI) HEI, custom Moroso ignition wires, a Moroso 7 quart oil pan, CVR mini-starter, Stewart Componants HP water pump, ATI Super dampner, Hedman Elite ceramic coated 2" X 3" headers, a Torque Tech 3" mandrel bent and custom installed exhaust system with Flowmaster Super 40 2-chamber mufflers. The engine is cooled by a Be Cool radiator and custom CDP built dual 11 inch electric fan assembly. A CS-12 type 160-amp one wire alternator (custom black powder coated) provides the juice. The goal is an estimated 625-650 HP and 650-660 TQ.
Interior vitals: The Chevelle sports a 10-speaker 2-amp sound system to rock on down the highway while sitting in the fully restored black vinyl bucket seat interior. The trans is shifted by a B & M Quick Silver rachet shifter. RJS racing belts secure the occupants. An Auto Meter tach and gauges, a stock wheel and a flamed fire extinguisher round things out.
Performance: The old 468/TH400/12-bolt combo was a very streetable, non-radical combination that completed 1700 miles on the 2004 Hot Rod Power Tour, with no problems! It garnered many a thumbs up and was a blast to drive! The Chevelle ran 12.9 @ 109 (12.7 @ 111 corrected) at the St. Louis Gateway International Dragway in the quarter mile on street BF Goodrich Radial TA's (spinning most of way). The Chevelle has run a best of 7.75 at 91 MPH with 1.70 60 foot times here at home on the Wichita Raceway Park 1/8 mile strip. We fitted new Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Radials tires on the back and they hook like mad! Highway mileage was 15 MPG with premium pump gas. This car was NOT then, and is NOT now, geared for drag racing! The new engine and rear end have yet to be tested in this combination. This car should be back on the road in the summer with the new combo. The ET's are sure to drop.
Future: The new 496, the S-60, brake upgrades, new supsension parts and more tuning. Stay tuned for more!
See this car in the August '04 issue of Chevy High Performance magazine, the April '06 issue of Car Craft magazine and the March '06 issue of the Good-Guys Gazette! COOL!
D's '71 Chevy Nova
This Project was an EBAY purchase from 2003. We started a rebuild of this Nova to make something great out of this project gone astray. The Nova is still under construction at this time. As purchased the car was supposed to be driveble but was far from it. A new CDP "Super Street" roller cammed 495 HP SBC 400 is finished and is freshly installed and awaiting complete installation of other supporting components and parts. The drivetrain consists of a stout Small block 400, TH 350 / with a 2500 RPM Phoenix Transmissions stall converter and a 4:10 geared 8.5" 10-bolt posi. New Ralley wheels and tires have been installed. The interior will be updated with new racing bucket seats, a set of 5-point safety harnesses, a B&M shifter and a new tach/gauge package! Installation of Competion Engineering subrame connectors and a roll cage will also be completed during the transformation. Dan is getting the twitches and Jonesin!
This will be a stealth street fighter! Stay tuned.
'67 Chevy C-10 Shop Truck
A new 495 HP CDP "Super Street" 454 Big Block is in the works for this one! We got a killer deal on a bunch of 454 big block parts. The build came together as an eye-popping beauty that will motivate the shop truck. It is one sweet looking big block with all the details and colors: chrome, black and lime green, POW! A new interior (with cool skulls and flames), an exterior with black suede, lime flames and hot pink licks. Fat and tastey Lime green ralley wheels and new tires are also on the way. We continue to buy new cool parts for this rad ride. I won a new Painless Performance wiring kit at Good-Guys this year, very cool! The parts are stacking up and the engine is looking waaay cool! Stay tuned!
'63 Chevy C-10 Father / Son project (was Robert's)
As of January '05 we finished Roberts truck. This father/son project took 4 years to complete. It drives very nice and has already turned many heads. We have had several offers to sell this truck but she is a keeper. Over the Christmas '05 break we installed a new rearend, new front coil springs and new KYB shocks. The future calls for new paint, interior work and a new 350 engine. We have a 350 take out engine dressed to kill and ready to go. This is the old engine out of Dans '71 Nova. For now, Robert is content with just driving it after all the hard work. Update! Robert was given a new truck by my Grandfather. This truck has been traded to Brandon for his '67 C-10 that is now going to be Jacob's and so the plot thickens. Rat Rods Rule!!!
C's '67 El Camino shop truck
The dependable C & D work horse and hauler for the past 18 years! It has a 383/700R4 combo under the hood. This ride has about 300,000 miles on the clock and is still running. Dig the rat rod rattle can flames! The new CDP "Super Street" 383 Stroker with CDP ported SuperFlow aluminum heads, a mild hydraulic roller cam and great detailing to the sum of 4 30 HP and 490 Ft Lbs of tire shredding torque. See the new pic above, dig that eye popping yellow! A new trans is backing up the "Super Street Stroker" in the form of a Phoenix Transmissions Street/Strip 700R4 overdrive and custom stall converter. My experiment was a success! The gas mileage of this combo is a very cool 16+ MPG in the city and 27+ MPG on the highway driving and running 92 octane fuel! A recent trial at the Team Chevelle, Denton Texas Dragway meet and get together netted a 9.0 @ 80 MPH in the 1/8th mile. There was no hope for traction in the 60 foot zone and my 60Ft's were in the 2 second range. I installed the 12-bolt posi from the Chevelle but I still can't get this thing to hook! Great R & D at work here. I recently installed a new '71 Chevelle bench seat and will soon install new door panels and a head liner. The junker image is slowly going by way of the past. A two tone scheme of gun metal silver / yellow or just a rat rod style grey suede with yellow flames paint scheme is in the future. Hmmm...I can't decide. Stay tuned.
D's '67 El Camino shop truck
We just finished installing a newly freshened CDP "Super Street" 400ci small block into D's Elco. The 400 is backed up by a TH350, a TCI Saturday Night Special converter and a 3:08 rear. This Rat Rod hauls, see the "Super Street" engine in the back! This one will also get a gray suede, yellow flame and blue licks paint job. Stay tuned for the stormer that runs all day on cheap pump gas? Rat Rods Rule!
Jackie's '67 GT Mustang
This Mustang GT has a 390 Big Block and C6 trans! This car is very nice with disc brakes at all four corners, a lowered stance, Brittany Blue paint, black interior and great wheels and tires! This beauty belongs to Jackie who is the wife of D.
Update: C put the "Evil Tweek" to the 390 in the Stang and found some hidden fun and power. The leaking transmission turned our to be a cracked front pump. We got the tranny fixed and this baby is back on the road.
Phil's '72 El Camino
We were very busy during Spring Break '06 working on and installing the new 395 HP CDP 383 Stroker in Phil's '72 El Camino. The awesome looking engine is done in black, chrome and silver with a touch of "Hot Lime Green" for the underhood detail of this jewel. The new black interior is very nice and we did a little floorboard repair and added new carpet. We recently installed new tunes and a tach to finish the interior detailing. Stay tuned for more as we transform this from Stocker to Rocker!
Phil's '73 Chevy Monte Carlo
This car used to belong to Phil my brother but now belongs to me. It was handed down when Phil got the El Camino. A great daily driver with a CDP "Super Street" 300 HP 350 that knocks down 22 MPG! A "True" proven daily driver for the real world. We recently bought a set of BFG Radial TA's 60's that are wider for a cool look and great ride. Update! This ride is now for sale. The first $2500 in cash takes it. Stay tuned.
