Bernie's '66 Chevelle

Many of the usual updates from this pic, mostly underneath for brakes, bushings, front end, etc...Including Powergilde to 4spd swap, most of the interior and freshening the 283. I brought it home already .060 over and stock cam, but added the 4bbl Rochester timing kit, 305 heads, new pushrods, and hand-cleaned lifters, new balancer and fresh OEM ignition parts. She purrs. and is a occasional driver, depending on my work schedule." Chuck's '69 Chevelle
Chuck says: "The 69 SS came from Washington State to Wisconsin and then a friend in Arlington bought it in November 2004. He brought it down here and he and another friend took it down and did a frame on restoration update. The car had been restored some years ago but it was not on tip - top shape. The paint was good but they pulled the front clip, engine etc. cleaned it up again and replaced tons of parts with correct ones. End result is a stunning car and I had no idea I would end up with it but October a year ago my friend announces he is going to sell it and I bought it.". Randy's '66 L-78 Chevelle (the Midnight Special - Barn Find)
Randy says: "54.000 mile '66 Chevelle SS396 L-78, M-20 4-speed, 4.10 gear, Black-on-Black. In storage since 1979. Garaged all it's life. Complete ORIGINAL numbers matching engine and drivetrain! Nearly flawless original body, floors, chrome, trim, and glass. Very nice trunk pan. Needs no sheetmetal or trim replaced.
It's from my hometown. I've known the car since 1969. I worked on the car many times while I operated a performance shop there in the mid-'70s. The owner, a friend of mine, died last year. I bought it last weekend from his sister." Randy's '67 Cutlass (the Funky Lookin' Chevelle)
Randy says: "It's powered by a 540 that I built. It's a Dart block, Brodix 2Plus CNC ported heads, Fully ported Victor 454-R with a 1" spacer and a Pro Systems 1100 XE dominator. Ignition is MSD. Cam is a custom Comp solid roller 260* / 266* @ .050" ground with 112 LSA and in at 107.5 ICL. It has 1.8 rockers on the intake and 1.7 on the exhaust. The headers are custom built Jere Stahl stepped headers 2" stepped to 2 1/8" and running into a Stahl hand formed merge collector that necks down to 2 3/4" and then back out to 3 1/2" . Compression is right at 10.5. and runs just fine on pump 93 octane. It has SRP pistons, Eagle rods, Scat 4340 internal balanced crank, BHJ balancer, and CSR flexplate. When I finally get it dialed in and get it to hook up and quit breaking parts, I'm going to hang a Speedtech Showerhead plate system on it and hose the headstuds out of it.
The converter is a custom built Lenny Croteau/Ultimate Converter Concepts unit with a Jakeshoe T-400 with a CK 36 element sprag and lightened drum. 1350 U-Joints and custom built chrome moly driveshaft turn a 3.90 Richmond gear with a Powertrax Lock Right unit and Strange axles with C-Clip eliminators. I'm currently using 10x29 Hoosier slicks.
I just got it all together in October and have not had it to the track yet due to broken driveline pieces. All I can say is that I've been building and racing stuff in Mod Prod, Comp, Super Stock, Super Comp and Super Gas since 1967 and this thing is just plain STUPID fast for a street car. I can't wait till spring!" Bruce's '70 Chevelle

Chris says: "1964 Chevelle Malibu Convertible. 283, 2bbl, 195 horse (original - rebuilt once in 1990). 2 speed powerglide (original). The car was built in April 1964 in the Kansas City GM plant. The original owners were neighbors of my grandparents in Chillicothe, OH. They did spare every option to keep costs down when they purchased it from McAllister Chevrolet.. Manual steering, brakes, and top. No A/C either. After driving her for about 5 years and handing the car down to their teenage son for another five, they eventually sold the car to my grandfather, who primarily let it sit in his garage. He did replace the convertible top and some of the interior. New carpet and reupholstered the front bench seat. I purchased the car from in 1985 with approximately 85,000 miles. After replacing almost every seal in the engine, I drove it every day to High School. In the spring of 1987 (after two Ohio winters on the road) my father and I conducted a major effort to remove rust, and redo the body and repaint. It has been relatively unchanged since a (subsequent) repair job in mid 1987 (fender bender). From 1987 to 1997 while I was away at college and in the Army (Germany), my father dutifully kept her garaged and in running order. In August 1997, my wife and I flew to Ohio and drove her to our home in Frisco. Since then, I have to admit, she has primarily sat in my garage (first a cramped 2 car, then a more spacious 3 car at our home in Plano). I did my best to keep her in running order but alas, I have to admit, she was a little neglected. However, I am proud to say that today she runs great with about 98,000 original miles." DeWayne's 67 Chevelle
DeWayne says: "I'm DeWayne and this is a a picture of my '67 SS. We are putting the finishing touches on the paint and after an oil pan replacement she'll be ready for the road. Powered by a slightly modified 396. Butternut yellow. Black Interior. Automatic (TH400). 3:73 gears with posi rear end. This was a worn out race car when I bought it off ebay about four years ago from somewhere in Arkansas. have to admit, she was a little neglected. However, I am proud to say that today she runs great with about 98,000 original miles."David's 66 Chevelle 300
David says: "1966 Chevelle with a ZZ502 big block and NOS Cheater System. TCI Turbo 400 with a Street Fighter Converter and trans. brake. Ford 9" rearend with 4.10 and Moser spool and axles. Best ET 1/8 mile to date is 7.31 on motor and 6.71 with 180 shot. Future plans include a solid roller cam, intake, 1050 dominator, and a Big Shot.."
